Mama Mia

Almost have been fed up with various televised singing contests, now emerges another variety show program held by Indosiar entitled MAMA MIA. Basically the format is quite same. The different is the involvement of each mother’s contestant as her manager (just noticed that all contestants are all females). It means that mothers have to in charge to manage their daughter’s performance, wardrobe, etc. It features four judges who critique the contestant’s performance and decide which contestants who get three lowest points. After that, 100 people named vote lock judges will determine the fate of those three contestants. And I had the opportunity to be become a vote lock judge on July 3 episode.

The show was awesome. I was amazed by all the contestants’ fabulous voices and they way they sang in full confidence.

Only one thing that annoyed me was the choice of their wardrobe and make up. A contestant wore a very poor white satin blouse and a pair of washed out jeans, while another contestant wore a long gown that almost drowned her and made her as if a walking curtain. Make up was also a serious matter. Couldn’t stand seeing teenagers had turned up to be tante-tante due to heavy make up. Ohh no…pls TV people, for the sake of viewers’ eyes, pls do assist mothers con managers with professional make up artists and fashion stylists. I hope Mbak Diah and Neng Sarah didn’t see the show…

One more thing that concerned me as well was the long long hour that it took for one episode. I came in at 7 pm and ended up at 11 pm. I didn’t expect that it would take that hours. So when I brought my son along it became a problem. For the first hour, Bagas was a good boy, but the rest hours…he was so crabby because he was sleepy and hungry (not allowed to bring f&b inside). No no..no more a vote lock judge….
